Most common regrets

Yesterday was Monday-VERDE after the Austin FC win on Saturday vs Minnesota United. Client twin day.
I have finally received my Covid 19 vaccination as of last Friday. One week in and a couple more to go before I have the promised immunity. I got the "One and Done" Johnson & Johnson vaccine.
I am adding one day a week at the office to accommodate more clients in a safe manner. My additional hours will be on Fridays from 10:00-3:00.
While we just had one therapist working, parking wasn't an issue. Now that there will be a couple of therapists once in a while, assigned parking will once again be important. Please only park behind my car or alongside the building.
We will be keeping all Covid precautions in place to keep clients and therapists safe at our office. And as always, if you have been exposed to someone who has been diagnosed with covid OR been around someone with an undiagnosed illness, please reschedule your appointment for 2 weeks past when you were exposed.
Thank you all for your continued vigilance in the face of this sometimes deadly disease. Our care for each other will get us through this extraordinary time and we'll come out the other side of this stronger.
I Look forward to seeing your masked faces soon!
I have started blogging. It's been a while in the process, but I finally got the help I needed. Check it out and share if you feel so moved.

The mimosa tree is in Bloom and the trumpet vine as well. I'm on a little water and mask break between client appointments. What are you doing right now?

Just a reminder, I am doing in office appointments on Mondays and Thursdays from 11-5 using COVID protocols (disinfecting prior to sessions, masks, temperature checks, etc)
I am also offering video chat sessions (1/2 price) on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from 11-3. These can include help with chronic pain relief using targeted stretching and teaching self massage techniques if you live too far away or are not ready to be in office yet.
If you want to schedule a video chat session, please contact me via text at 512-789-0267. In office sessions can be scheduled online at soundbodyworksaustin.com by clicking on the BOOK NOW button

He makes some very good points about the plank.

Anyone have back or neck problems that have gotten worse during quarantine? I'm working on Mondays and Thursdays.
Covid-19 has of course, changed the way we do things at the office. Only one practitioner is allowed to work at a time, temperatures are taken, masks are worn the entire time, and the office is disinfected between appointments.

How are you doing? How is your body? What have you noticed about yourself recently? I know that I have missed working at my "calling" and look forward to starting up again.
On our end, once the governor gave Massage Therapists the okay to work and the state sent out the standard health protocols, my officemates and I got together via phone to talk about what we needed to do to make our office safe for everyone.
Due to the intimate office setting we usually enjoy, we are only allowing one Therapist to work per day. Each week, my work days are Monday and Thursday from 11 am to 5pm. In addition, we are minimizing the time spent inside by multiple clients each day. What this means to you is that homey feeling waiting room is now just a pass through. If you get a ride from someone or there are two of you, the person not being worked on can wait in the car or outside.
Like all heathcare providers, we will be checking your temperature and asking about any COVID-19 symptoms or exposure to confirmed cases. If you have been exposed to a known case of COVID-19, please make your appointment for at least 14 days AFTER your exposure to ensure all of our health. Along those same lines, if you wake up the morning of your appointment and you have any of the symptoms, please contact me immediately to cancel your appointment - no cancellation charge.
Since I will be disinfecting between clients, please wait in your car and call or text me once you are here. Once the office has been prepared for your appointment time, I will unlock the door and meet you for your temperature check. Masks will be worn by both of us for the entire appointment. Additionally, all therapists are wearing masks whenever we are in the building.
As you come inside, please take off your shoes and place them by the dryer and wash your hands with soap and water for a minimum of 20 seconds before we go back to my office for your session. If your session requires that you disrobe, a clothing "tree" is there to minimize clients belongings/clothing being placed on the cloth-covered chair and will be sprayed with disinfectant between sessions. To do your part, please bring in minimal belongings.
I am using a HEPA Air Purifier and when possible temperature-wise, working with the windows open allowing airflow to create a safer space for my clients.
After each client, the sheet and face cradle cover get put into a closed container (if not directly into the washing machine) and everything is wiped down and disinfected, especially in the bathroom if it is used.
In addition to my regular in-person services, I am excited to offer 30 minute personalized video coaching for stretching and mobility work. Video sessions were one of the few things I could do during the COVID 19 shut down after getting a crash course in Zoom and other video chat apps. If it suits your needs, that is now available to schedule online under the Wellness heading.
The state is encouraging contactless payment. I am set up on Venmo (-Clark-29) which is preferred, but I will still take all other methods of payment (Prepayment via my booking system, Credit Card, check, and if necessary, cash).
If you are hesitant or unsure about whether you are ready to come in for an appointment, give me a call or send an email with your concerns. Having recently been immuno-compromised due to chemotherapy, I take ALL concerns seriously. With some discussion, we can figure out what is right for you.
I am excited to get back to work and see you,
covered face to covered face!

We are gradually starting back to work at my office. I will be working on Mondays and Thursdays in the month of June as we work to make our office as safe as possible for our clients and ourselves.
There will only be one practitioner in the office at a time and we will have a new set of protocols for having an appointment including the usual ones of checking temperatures, asking the usual covid-19 questions each appointment, hand washing, and of course mandatory mask-wearing.
I will not be doing any videos this week. I am with my partner, as her mom is in the dying process.
Hopefully I will be able to start seeing a few clients next week at my office with many new safety protocols.

I am a little over 7 weeks post chemo and I have been exercising for several weeks starting in about two weeks after. During this pandemic, I have been a little nervous because my immune system was suppressed, although I have been maintaining my supplement regimen which the nutritionist put me on prior to beginning chemo. One of the things he had me do was to get my vitamin D levels up above 60 to help prevent respiratory illnesses, since at that time it was flu season.
I have continued to work on keeping my vitamin D levels High. My last Labs, I got a vitamin D test done. They were at a 70. That is considered a therapeutic level. That got me curious about the possible roles of vitamin D3 and this covid-19 pandemic. Sure enough, I went to PubMed and looked up vitamin D and respiratory. I found this article (or the abstract for it). I clicked on the link and went to the full article. This has all the "bells and whistles" and will give you all the information you might need to make a good decision or to present to your health care practitioner to get their opinion.
I am not a doctor (nor do I play one on TV), but this is what I am doing to help protect myself. I take between 12,000 and 16,000 IU daily. My body is not one that stores vitamin D well evidently.
