Our new view…Olivia has been hanging out in therapy waiting rooms since she was about 4 months old. Today, we start a new therapy journey, reading therapy, and this will be our spot for the next 2years. I’m thankful for this therapy buddy while we wait.

Lounge clothes, turkey leftovers, late nights and screen time…all on during holiday break. This is part of the judging process Reflections Program that I am the district coordinating. It’s my first year as an Austin district PTA Arts in Education Chair, and although it’s pulling from sleep time, I am really enjoying being part of the next generation of artists. It just reinforces that art education feels right for me, and I can’t wait to be certified to teach photography. This excitement feels just like my wedding photography nights of the past. I’m honored to be a part of this new art world, and I’m kind of proud of myself for taking this new road. It’s hard to enter this new world of education but very worth it. Back to work…Spotify tunes on repeat, organizing files and lots of caffeine.

Back on my morning walks, I need to regroup and put health back in my routine...again. No sweaty selfies. No before and after pics. What you will get from my walks is nice nature pics.

The fall has held many personal and professional changes. As the leaves change, I change, but some things must stay the same. Health has to be a mainstay.

This year, I learned that it’s time to bring my education volunteer work together with my photography work. I want to teach photography to kids in a neurodiverse-friendly way that presents photography as a visual language. Not all languages are verbal and I want to tell teach this visual language. My visual language.

So this is my photo showing the changing colors of my health. The mixed emotions about working in time to workout in a new busy schedule. My photo showing all the changes it takes to learn a new routine. To teach photography, I have to get certified. To get certified, I have to be in a classroom and learn things like motivational charts and behavior management. I have to relearn how to work on someone else’s schedule as I’ve owned my own time for more than a decade now. Since September, I’ve been working as a reading tutor in a service program. It’s so different than anything I’ve ever done. Fall used to mean wedding weekends, session Sundays, scouting locations and long nights editing. This year has me yearning for career change. I will always love the bond of family sessions, but I’m pretty sure the 12 hr day wedding is in my past. I have the most wonderful memories of watch couples vow to become family. Thank you, and I will take all I learned about communicating love to teaching the next generation of photographers how to use their visual voice. 📸

Time to play with this 2yr old after finishing this morning’s work: a business webinar. Cozy-couch-time is the best time!

Our Story

"People are so concerned about having the right camera, the right film and the right lenses and all the special effects that go along with it,... that they're missing the key element" -Herb Ritts

I have been photographing weddings since 2008. I didn't go in search of photography. I feel like photography found me. I always thought I'd be a writer. Writing in college lead me to pick up my first camera, and the camera led me here. I'm still a storyteller...I just do it with pictures. I'm a believer in natural light and natural poses. Your moments are captured in organic way with a mix of photojournalism and creative portraits. It's the start of your life together, and I understand the responsibility of my job.

BTW, why is the name Number 9?
The name is a Beatles reference. I'm a huge John Lennon fan, and he lived his life obsessed with the number 9. It was represented in his birthday, the day he met Yoko, his music and even his death. Number 9 represents what photography has become to me...it's in everything I do.
