Michael Quinn Sullivan asks about these actions,
"Why a non-governmental "association" instead of the Texas Education Agency? Why not order funds be withheld from school districts until they certify no po*******hy or sexually explicit materials are in their libraries?
This echoes Abbott's non-response to Texans frustrated by his inaction on children being psychologically coerced into gender mutilation surgeries and forced to take puberty-blocking drugs. Rather than set the issue on the agenda of the legislature's three special sessions, Abbott sent a letter ASKING a state agency if gender surgeries on children constituted child abuse. No action, just a letter asking a question."

The states must just start exercising their sovereign authority, period. The states must stop asking permission, and instead get to work."

The governor's response to the border crisis is more of that.
Instead of the Texas National Guard being used to either stop invaders from entering Texas, or arresting them for violating Texas law when here, they are supplementing the Border Patrol agents in becoming a facilitating force for the invasion.

The governor is all about optics. But the optics have been TERRIBLE!
When you say you will do something and you don't do it, optics have a way of working out that way.
