A boat on our dock caught fire and almost burned the whole dock. The boat ended up sinking so didn't do too much damage, but was touch and go for a a couple of hours. Thankfully nobody was hurt and damage was minimal to other boats.

I surprised my brother (with a little help from my sister) with an impromptu trip to the Glamis Sand Dunes in California where they hang out a couple of times a year - what an amazing experience. Thanks sibs!

Went a slight different direction this weekend - no water within a few hundred miles but basically the same idea as chartering - rent a shared vehicle (RV), head out to sea (desert), ride your jet ski (dune buggy) around. Just about the same idea :)
