Farewell event in honour of Her Excellency Jane Miller, OBE, High Commissioner and Patron of BritCham Guyana.
At Four Points Hotel by Sheraton.

The painting is a symbolic tribute to British High Commissioner Jane Miller OBE and her husband, blending intimate portraiture with Guyana’s national identity. Depicted in a warm, affectionate embrace, the couple’s attire subtly reflects Guyana–UK ties, while the background showcases iconic elements such as Kaieteur Falls, lush landscapes, and symbols of Guyana’s biodiversity, including the Canje Pheasant, Victoria Amazonica, and river life. Rendered in a soft, romanticized realistic style, the artwork celebrates love, shared experiences, and a lasting emotional connection to Guyana, serving as a visual love letter to the country they came to cherish.

The butterfly is my most meaningful representation on this piece.
It represents peace, journey's freedom and emotional butterflies (from the love, hugs and support from your husband)
And it's on the left hand, which is close to the heart... the heart of love. Memories of Love.

Participating in historical events holds significance, but fostering collective advancement is equally crucial. ✊️

I reached out to two different artists at separate times to help with the project. Unfortunately, after one artist initially agreed, they later withdrew without notice. Subsequently, contacting the other artist did not yield the desired results.

Given the time constraints, it was necessary to expedite the process. While numerous underlying factors were at play, the ultimate outcome aligned with the intended objectives.

In the end, I'm happy and satisfied 🫡
