A sneak peek at a new West Austin hilltop estate in the works where the brief was simple: no compromises. From the underground collector’s garage and private helipad to the lagoon-edge pool and clay court, we’re pushing the boundaries of residential scale to capture 360 degrees of Hill Country views.

The grand courtyard at our Industria Ranch project is surrounded by building on all sides, providing a controlled landscape distinct from the surrounding native flora and fauna. This tranquil garden features a Solarium in the form of a glass truncated cone, which houses an even more controlled interior greenhouse to support the nurturing of fruits and vegetables otherwise not suited for the Texas hill country climate. This "nested doll" approach to layered control pervades the project, also informing the hierarchy of public and private spaces in the home.

It was fun to host yesterday at our Vale Residence project in Rollingwood. We had a great turnout and had the jobsite looking impeccable. A big shout out to the AIA for putting on such a cool program, and for providing lunch!

Our Overlook House takes advantage of its steeply sloping site, with a series of cascading lake-view decks that create covered living space for a walk-out basement gym and rec room, which in turn give direct access to the boat dock.

Softscape

A visit to our Geneva Lake House under construction in Wisconsin. The expansive glass and cantilevered forms are coming together to create a striking composition unique to the shoreline here. We cant wait to see the cladding go on!

Pedernales Falls Ranch House | Texas Hill Country
Positioned on the crest of a hill on acreage above the meandering Pedernales River, this design for a branching Y-shaped ranch house creates three distinct relationships to the landscape: a panoramic vista, a utility motor court, and a private woods.

The living room at our recently completed Terrace Mountain Residence draws inspiration from traditional Japanese architecture, reimagined through a modern lens. At its heart, a suspended fireplace evokes the open-pit "Irori" hearth—an elemental gathering place—elevated into a sculptural centerpiece. Charred timber and patinated steel form a grounded yet nuanced composition, while a suspended fluted glass shroud refracts the firelight, animating the space with warmth and movement.
