Programs like SNAP-Ed, school meals and nutrition research are at risk of being cut.

I've seen how these proven tools improve health, reduce healthcare costs and support our communities.

Join me in advocating for these programs alongside the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and 19 other organizations: eatrightpro.org/ProtectNutrition

One of the most valuable tools in developing a healthy relationship with food and body is time.
When we give ourselves time we can…

*Wait and listen for our bodies to gives us hunger and fullness cues before and during meals.
*We can pause and be thoughtful about what food will be most satisfying when we have cravings.
*We can savor our food slowly so we can know when we have adequately satisfied a craving.
*We can pause and realize the feeling of heaviness we are experiencing is because we are having an emotionally heavy day and not because our bodies grew bigger.
*We can pause and wait when big emotions begin flooding in before we try to cope with food.
* We can be patient and reject the lies of numbers-based instant gratification because we know that developing health promoting behaviors and a healthy relationship with food and body is well worth the wait. ⏳⏳⏳How can you give yourself time this week?

Reposting from last year because they are all still true! October is my favorite month of the year. But there were years a poor relationship with my body and food stole some of its joy.
Comment below if October brings joy or stress to yours or your family’s relationship(s) with food and body. And feel free to debate slide 4 😏

As we come upon Mother’s Day….

Maybe you have the experience of seeing your mother-figure constantly trying to shrink their body or maybe they encouraged you to diet, believing your body was too big to be beautiful or healthy.
Studies show that around 40%–50% of young girls and about 30% of young boys want to lose weight.*
Let's break that generational cycle.
Reject the lies of a culture fixated on dieting. Choose to make peace with your body and food. Model a healthy relationship with food to your children.
