Currently, I’ve been learning how to create compositions on smaller canvas sizes. It can feel quite tough to go from always painting in a large format to focusing on scaling everything down.
Painting small has definitely allowed me more freedom and ease in the studio. Instead of getting bogged down for hours upon hours, I might have a finished painting at the end of one studio session!
That means I get to go through the whole painting process a lot quicker–learning things I may never have before simply because I have gotten through the entire process.
Not sure how long I'll be shifting my mindset from maxi to mini - but for now it’s pretty cool 😎
