The Boot Project- This art was born in an art classroom in 2015 as a printing project for 5th grade students. I had my art students create a printing plate using a sketch of their shoe as the subject of the print. The example that I created for them was of my favorite cowgirl boots. I love my print so much that I made a few more boot prints as gifts that Christmas. That original print still hangs on my wall at home. Once l thought about creating a tooled version out of leather, I realized they would look like real boot replicas. I love them so much!!!

70’s Retro inspired guitar strap. I just finished weaving this band that will become a guitar strap. My art is often inspired by music. I have loved the retro country sound coming from modern artists like Charley Crockett and Vincent Neil Emerson so I decided to pull themes and color palettes from my memories of growing up in the early 80’s. Most of our decor was from the 70’s and very gold and brown. 🤣❤️ This guitar strap will be for sale at the Luck Reunion on Thursday. Come see us in the VIP section.

We are looking forward to Luck Reunion in a few days. I am heavily leaning into my Texas roots for my new work. I love the warm tones of natural wood and leather and that inspired my color palette.

I’m working on a custom extra large toiletry bag. I am very excited how to handles turned out and the vintage feel of the natural leather. Working in 3-D hurts my brain a bit, but I love the challenge. This is a modified Al Stohlman pattern.

I am back to tablet weaving. This band will be the inlay for a leather belt. Once I weave 34” of band, I’m going to add a few more cards to each side to widen it, and continue this pattern to get enough material for 2 guitar strap inlays. I’m looking for more ways to marry my woven creations with leather goods, and I am excited to finish some belts and guitar straps that have both leather tooling and a woven inlay.
