Meta is making it easier for creators to monetize their content on both Instagram and Meta by extending paid online events, fan subscriptions, badges and its upcoming independent news products free for creators until 2024.

Meta is also testing a new creator marketplace on Instagram where creators can get discovered and paid for content. Creator marketplace will make it easier for brands to find creators to partner with, creator marketplace allows brands to share new partnership opportunities. Once a brand finds a creator that they want to connect and partner with, easier to send project details, including information about deliverables and payment.

E-commerce features have arrived on Twitter! New in-app Shopify integration allows Shopify merchants to list their products on their Twitter Professional Profiles.

The newest shoppable features include a shop module at the top of twitter page, carousel display of products on profile, and/or a dedicated product display page, with Shopify-connected listings for products updated in real time, reflecting Shopify inventory.

Pinterest is buying THE YES, an AI powered e-commerce platform that will help Pinterest bring next-generation, enhanced, and curated shopping experiences to the platform. Pinterest hopes that this new partnership will makes it easier for pinners to find and shop for the right products by showing them product pins that are personalized for them based on their taste and style.

After month's of testing, Meta just confirmed users can now post 90 second reels on the platform. Along with this new update to reels, users will have more interactive stickers to choose from, audio edit options and templates to help customize content.

Gen-Z and Millennials have steadily been migrating from Instagram to the app BeReal, an app that aims for authenticity with no filers and stylized or curated content. The app allows for users to take a step back from feeds full of ads, influencer content and picture perfect content to genuinely connect with friends and show your most authentic self.​​​​​​​​

BeReal founded in 2019 and since April of 2022 has seen the majority of it lifetime downloads, now surpassing over 10 million downloads.

More men are using Pinterest and now 27% of US men aged 25 to 54 are looking to find more male-aligned brands and products on Pinterest.​​​​​​​​

New data, recently shared by Pinterest, shows that:​​​​​​​​
• Male users are highly brand conscious, and will pay more for the brands that they know and trust​​​​​​​​

This new app is intended to help bring more video content to the platform and allow creators to Livestream directly to the platform in a quick and convenient way. If all goes well, we can expect to see this app become available to more creators on the platform in the future!

Snapchat is seeing strong, steady growth in 2022 for both users and revenue. They are now 332 million users on snapchat, with a majority of users coming from North America. The increased interest in AR Tools and Lenses on the platform is helping to keep older demographics active on the platform as well. NFT's are on the rise and coming to Instagram. This latest experiment with digital products is testing "digital collectibles" with a handful of US creators and collectors who will be able to share NFTs on Instagram.
