A singer DM’d me last week with the same question I used to ask myself every day: “How do I actually get started?”

She has an incredible voice. She has so much passion. She was also waiting for a magic way to get started that doesn’t exist.
So I told her to stop holding onto her art like it’s a secret.

We treat “putting ourselves out there” like it’s a final exam that we’re getting ready for, but creativity isn’t a talent you’re born with. It is a way of operating. It’s a series of “What happens if I do this?” moments. More than that, you never know who you are going you reach and what impact you could have if you don’t take the first step.

It is terrifying to post your first work. It’s scary to show the world your “experiments” before they’re “perfect.” But if you never start the journey, you’re guaranteed to never arrive and no one ever feels like their work is truly done.

As Martin Luther king jr said “Faith is taking the first step even when you don’t see the whole staircase.”

Don’t wait for the perfect track or the perfect moment. It doesn’t exist Just start dammit. It’s scary to be seen trying, but it’s worse to be invisible.

Blown away that a book could have such a big impact on my life ✨

Shoutout to .collectivee who taught me so much about journaling, mindfulness, and helped me in my journey to find peace and of course .singer for such an amazing book.

Austin has been my home for almost 20 years. I’ve grown up here, watched the skyline reach higher, and felt the city change me just as much as it has changed itself.

My heart is heavy following the events on West 6th last weekend. This city is defined by its youthful soul. This is a place where anyone can play, laugh, and dance. It’s devastating to see that joy met with such darkness.

In times like these, I’m holding onto hope that we can find peace together. Let’s keep looking out for one another and keep the music playing.

One week until “Running” is finally yours 🖤

It’s been a mainstay in my sets for a while now, and honestly, nothing compares to the feeling of looking out and seeing you all singing along to words you haven’t even officially heard yet.

Seeing that that shared emotion is why I do this.

For me, Running is about the weight of modern life. It feels like we’re constantly being asked to do more, be more, and give more, all while the world shifts beneath our feet faster than we can keep up.

It’s that breathless feeling of trying to find your footing when the ground won’t stay still.

The world keeps spinning, but it feels like we’re the ones doing all the heavy lifting just to stay in place.

I can’t wait for this to be out in the world.
