This is an international juried competition. Hundreds of photographers will be featured in the Editors’ Picks Gallery during the competition, and winners will be announced in June 2023. This year there is an incredible roster of jurors for the contest and an exhibit for finalists in NY.

This print is part of a special series I created in honor of our earth, using a unique process to me which involves painting with water. There is no canvas involved.

In this series each image is carefully constructed with varying mixtures of acrylic paint, acrylic ink, and a latex based paint. It is further manipulated with various tools to achieve an image I'm happy with. It is then photographed, carefully edited, and professionally printed on high quality archival exhibition quality fine art paper.

The she-wolf has this habit of wrapping herself around the neck of her wolf because the neck is the most vulnerable part of the animal.
By doing so, she shows him her unconditional love.
For ethologists: Wolves are the most loyal and loving animals: they have only one partner throughout their life. The wolf is known to have an almost extraordinary tenderness and affection towards his she-wolf...which she knows perfectly well to return.

This was one of my first water paintings (no canvas), I created to use with experimental photography. It started off as an experiment and as I work with materials and different tools to learn, and then photographed the results with the intent to use in a photo collage. Often these pieces are beautiful as stand alone art.

What comes to mind as you experience these?

To fill in the gaps for faceplant failures im going to have to backtrack on tags that didn't show up here. Lately I have been working on experimental photography projects involving water painting (no canvas)

Experimental photography

More work with water painting (no canvas). I love the smooth background, the varied textures, depth, and movement that I don't normally get from canvas. But thats me. Made these with the intent to use in collage work as background hence the shallow depth of field. but i still think it adds to the Arial phototherapy from and im pleased. When all are edited I'll select a fav or two and make a few prints to explore further embellishment, or not, and leave as print editions for sale. Email me if interested. Email profile heading.

I give up on trying to figure out faceplants overcomplicated system. I've been tagging my page here and nothing is showing up. I have no idea why.

Be respectful to your photographer and their prices. Also tip them if you can. While we set our prices, it’s really nice to get a tip. We don’t have any holiday bonuses or 401ks. We have to save and plan for everything with no extra help.

Personally I take my tips and put them in my rainy day fund. Which has helped me out during the slow seasons.
