My daughter was craving a good burger. Because we are both foodies, if we are going to do a burger then we will do it right! I love trying new spots in Austin and Mile High Mo has been on my list for months. It's a little ways out from where I stay in Austin but...
Let me tell you something...it was so worth it. Omg.
1. When we went inside I immediately said... This is like a New York spot from the aesthetics. I was like this is going to be great π
2. A wonderful high energy kindhearted Palestinian man comes from the back with a smile. He says... First time here... You are going to love it.
3. My daughter kept her reservations until she got her food but I was the hype girl π
4. When we got our Smashburger... We both were eating like we never ate before. He literally put love in every part of the food. From the burgers, fries and omg the funnel cake fries. Absolutely delicious.
If you like great burgers, fries, Philly Steaks you MUST check them out.
I walked about 15 miles this week to balance everything out πππ

I apologize. Truly. For missing any previous Body Rock Event that I knew about. Like... What the hell was I thinking? Like WHAT IN THE H E DOUBLE HOCKEY STICKS WAS I THINKING?
I was hyping this up because even though I never went. Even though it has been ages since I been out to an intimate community party as such.... I knew it wasn't going to be your regular, average, party. The facilitators aren't REGULAR OR AVERAGE. They are purposed.
When I say this was a party... Not just any party. A house party. Like I felt like I was home. I was home. I almost didn't make it. Then my daughter said she would come with me. Then the hubby said he would go.
Both I mind you who are very very particular with people and crowds. Both absolutely LOVED it.
My daughter was like I can definitely do that again. They only played Docheii once but it was fun.
My husband... He smiled when he was there. He was shouting while he was there. This filled my soul. He came as he was and didn't feel judged or a stranger. The only thing he said was... I just need to get used to people being close up on me π. I said yes my love.

Saturday I attended the in-person class at . The beautiful facilitator of this event was founder of .
I had the opportunity to a variety of different people. It was an intimate small setting. The conversations were about writing praise poetry and odes. It was absolutely delightful.
We had a couple of writing exercises. Amanda has us create two columns on a blank paper. In one column, we had 10 minutes to write down names of people we know that have had a positive impact on our life. This was humbling and very present. I had about 42 names on my list.
To be able to reflect and write out something from a different perspective and lens with EVERYTHING going on was filling to my soul. I had moments where I thought of a person and immediately starting smiling. Reflecting on their impact on my life. The second column was about people that you don't personally know that impacted your life positively. This was shorter for the time we had. However, a couple of names or groups of people included Maya Angelou, the individual who invented vinyl records, TSA agents, Jim Henson for the Muppet babies, Levar Burton for reading rainbow, the architect of Brownstones in NYC and more.
At the end of the exercise we were to pick one name from our list of people we know and write a praise poem about them. After I read mine I realized how beautiful it was. Amanda suggested I give it to the person. I was already in agreement.
It was sunny outside. The conversations were edifying and stimulating. That day was great.
I aligned to what speaks to my soul. So glad I was listening to respond.

Black History is World history
Mmmmmmmmmm Here are some possibilities
These kids are full adults now
These adults perspective have evolved
These adults could be Maga supporters, ice workers, or worst... People who hate people because they are different
I just know the problems we currently have didn't magically appear. They were feed and cultivated to be what they presently are...
Interesting enough that this was on the Jerry Springer show back in the day. However, he didn't pay these kids to be this or say what they said. I am pretty sure there parents got paid.
But hey what do I know. I am just a black girl in America sipping tea, creating art and helping others like me win

Unlocked a lifestyle πwellness joy codeπ. At least that is what I am calling it.
A two hour seventeen minute movie (The Creator, on Amazon) equates to six miles on my home treadmill and about 12k steps. So now I know if I find a good movie to walk that is two hours I can easily get over 10k steps if walking on my home treadmill π.
The hubby said... I aint finna walk no 6 miles in one spot.
I was like I didn't walk six miles in one spot. I walked six miles with the Creator, in another reality.
He says... OK I will go with that ππ
I am Yoda sometimes but at all times... This is the way π€£ππ (only a few people will get that)
Anyhoo... I got more miles towards my walking journey. Started out with 84 miles now I am at 29 miles left.
I definitely drained my lymphatic system and did it from the comfort of my space. I wanted to go out in the elements today but I am conserving gas.

When you are out in Austin living your best life and you hear a voice from afar saying... Ma.. Mamaπ€π€.
You turn around and see your little adult. I stop calling her child and baby unless I am playing or joking. It is a boundary of respect for us. Specially a reminder for me when she ask for money ππ€£. Ooooh you go into the adult category my ninja π₯·πΎπ₯·πΎ.
I kissed her all over her face like I usually do when I see her.
IIt was definitely divine timing. We were both at a Anime Bookstore in Austin I would take her to when she was a teenager. It was nostalgic π. We briefly talked about the memories of what we used to do when we came here. I was purchasing arts and crafts and she was doing her own thing ππ. So confident. So adventurous. So bold. So beautiful.
I love me some her ππππ

It is definitely a dope ass day when you realize that you are less than 36 miles from achieving your first medal for walking.
I started on December 25th with 84 miles to accomplish. As of date I only have 36 to go. Joining this virtual walking/running marathon has been the best gift of wellness I gave myself coming into the new year.
I am looking forward to sharing the significance of my first medal. What a journey it has been... Walking from the inside of my soul into the world.

Besides the habit, the greatest gift is that eventually you will be asking the person that has formed the life they wanted to create. Then the question will evolve π
