Texas wouldn’t let these men or the thousands of peaceful demonstrators enter the Texas Capitol gates this past Sunday. EVERY other protest I’ve ever been to or seen there the people were allowed on the lawn, all the way up the steps to the door of the building built by slave labor. (We all recall the lockdown protestors right up on the south steps of the Capitol that made national news just about a month ago) Remember the Women’s March? The March for our Lives? This time protesters were met with armed State Troopers Texas National Guard and locked gates. This was a Planned, Peaceful March. Perhaps they will say the locked gates were because of violence? But, the organizers of this march had responsibly cancelled the march the weekend before because of violence. This was a new day. Open the gates, Texas! Let the people in to peacefully gather where everyone one else gets to stand and be heard!
