🕷️ Spiders on Mars?!? Sort of…

📸 These are photos taken from space which show "spider scars" that form when CO2 gas bursts through the Martian surface, creating creepy patterns that look just like a spider! 🛰️

They're called "Araneiforms", which literally means "like a spider"! 🕸️

What other spooky secrets could Mars be hiding… 🤔

🚨🚨 OUR BIGGEST UPDATE EVER! 🚨🚨

We are about to brew the first-ever beer in space! 🍻 For science! 🧪

We have spent the last week at Kennedy Space Center in Cape Canaveral preparing the experiment called MicroBrew-1, and it will be launching to space on NASA’s Crew-11 mission today! 🚀

The experiment has two chambers: one with a sugary malty liquid called wort and another with freeze-dried yeast. When it reaches the International Space Station, an astronaut will turn a crank to activate fermentation in microgravity! 🧑‍🚀

This is launching in addition to another world-first experiment we have funded on the ISS to grow crops in Martian soil in space! 🌱

We believe this research will advance fermentation techniques across food/beverage production, life support, biomanufacturing, agriculture, and numerous other space industry applications. 🔬

Massive shoutout to Dr. Luis Zea of Jaguar Space who has been key to driving the science efforts behind this mission for the past 2 years. 👨🏽‍🔬

From day one, the goal of this brewery has been to establish the first brewery on Mars and today is our biggest day yet. But this is just the beginning… ✨

🌶️ Spice and space collided in Houston last weekend! 🚀 We had a blast sponsoring the METECHS team for the second year in a row at the Annual Chili Cook-Off. This year they snagged a first place trophy! 🏆 Huge congrats to METECHS on their win! 🧑‍🚀

🪐 The Chili Cook-Off at Johnson Space Center has been a huge Houston tradition since 1979. For 45 years, this event has brought the NASA community together with the public for out-of-this-world chili, games, and camaraderie. 🍺 It’s the perfect celebration of teamwork, creativity, and the spirit of exploration that fuels JSC’s mission. 🌌
