Connected a breezeway, the design emphasizes the relationship between art, culture, and public space. In the heart of East Austin, Springdale General brings together artists, makers, non-profits, and small businesses—all under one thoughtfully designed campus by Michael Hsu Office of Architecture. Proudly recognized as Austin’s Most Influential Project at the 2019 ULI Impact Awards.

In the heart of South Austin, this adaptive reuse building is a light-filled office building with flexible, open floorplans and a spacious outdoor patio. Completed in 2020, it sits just blocks away from bustling South Lamar and across the street from The Austin Beer Garden Brewing Co (ABGB). Anchor tenant Hai Hospitality shares the building with other creative visionaries such as Cricket, Chubbies and Letterpress Play.

The mission of Springdale General is to keep the creative class in Austin by building a campus of affordable maker studios, creative office space, test kitchens, and workshops in East Austin. With over 165,000 square feet of space on 10 acres, this development has been able to accommodate a variety of small to medium businesses from coffee roasters to media companies and nonprofits.
