Our June-July issue is here! ✨

Technology is changing the way we work, connect, learn, and build community—and in this issue, we're exploring what that means for us.

Our feature story highlights Meredith Sisnett, who shares how technology impacts her business, her career, and her everyday life. From digital tools to new opportunities, her story reminds us that technology is more than screens and devices—it's about how we use it to move forward.

We hope you take away something you can use or something that will get you to think about technology for you and your family.

Before We Go...

Sometimes, the men we love don't say when something is wrong. The doctor appointment gets pushed back, the symptoms get ignored and the fatigue gets explained away as "just being tired."

This month, as we focused on Black Men's Health, one message stayed with us:
-Don't assume he's okay.
-A simple conversation, a quick text, or asking "How are you really doing?" can make a difference.

Because we don't just want the men in our lives to be strong. We want them to be here.

Who is one man in your life you'll check on this week? 💙

earning to Give Myself Grace 🌻

During Mental Health Awareness Month, I've been reflecting on something I've heard more than once lately: "Give yourself grace."

For a long time, I thought strength meant pushing through everything. Now, I'm learning that strength can also look like resting, pausing, and being honest about what I need.

Healing isn't always loud. Sometimes it's simply checking in with yourself, taking things one day at a time, and allowing yourself room to grow.

If you're in a season of caring for your mind, your heart, and your peace, know that you're not alone.

What is one way you're giving yourself grace these days?

Mental Health Awareness Month reminds me that taking care of myself emotionally is just as important as taking care of my physical health. Sometimes I carry grief, depression, anxiety, stress, and emotional exhaustion quietly while trying to continue functioning every day. But healing often begins when I allow myself to seek help.

Talking to friends and loved ones can be comforting, but sometimes they may not completely understand what I am feeling. Speaking with someone who is not emotionally connected to the situation can provide a safe and unbiased space to process my thoughts honestly. Therapy can help uncover true feelings that may have been buried for years and help me better understand myself.

For some people, medication may also be part of the healing process. There should never be shame in using the tools needed to feel balanced and well. And when life improves and it is medically appropriate, some people may be able to manage without it. Every journey looks different.

The most important thing is to not suffer in silence. Seeking help is not weakness. It is choosing myself, my peace, and my well-being. Healing takes time, honesty, and grace. I give myself permission to bloom through it.

End of An Era with Aubrie Edmond

The end of one chapter can feel exciting… and bittersweet at the same time.

In this powerful reflection, our law student shares the emotional reality of finishing her first year of law school — the pressure, the growth, the self-doubt, and the beauty of finally finding community and belonging along the way.

Sometimes success changes us in ways we don’t fully understand until we stop long enough to reflect.

And sometimes the greatest gift is no longer feeling like you’re standing on the outside looking in.

The Weight of the Label: Confronting Mental Health Stigma
Minister Sonya Hosey/ She Speaks Wellness

She sat in the car a little longer… trying to hold it together. “I’m just tired,” she said. But it wasn’t just tired.
It was anxiety. It was emotional exhaustion. It was the weight of being strong for everyone else.

Too often, mental health struggles in our community are dismissed as “just stress.”
And stigma keeps us silent… even when we’re breaking. But the truth is this:
Saying “I’m not okay” is not weakness—it’s courage.

This Mental Health Awareness Month, let’s do more than talk about healing.
Let’s confront the stigma that keeps us from it. Because what we refuse to name… we continue to carry.

Three Generations. One Legacy. 🌻

When we look at the men in our lives—our fathers, our husbands, our sons—we’re not just seeing individuals. We’re seeing a story unfold.

A generation that pushed through without complaint.
A generation learning to balance strength with care.
A generation rewriting what strength really looks like.

Men’s health isn’t just personal—it’s generational.

The truth is, how our men care for themselves today shapes the future of our families tomorrow.

So we ask:
When was the last time the men in your life checked in with themselves—really checked in?

Let’s keep the conversation going. Let’s normalize the check-ups. Let’s support their mental health. Let’s remind them that taking care of themselves is strength.

Because three generations later, the message is still the same:
Men’s health matters.
