Thank you CARY for your tireless work helping at risk youth in our community, and thank you for the beautiful evening meeting new friends and collaborators. You can learn more about this great organization at cary4kids.org.

Thank you Beth Sanchez and Delphi Alvizo for the privilege to serve alongside you. I am proud to be a sponsor of an event near and dear to my heart: the Sanchez Law Back to School Fiesta school supply drive. Paying it forward where you can, when you can is a way of life, pass it on!

After a year of anticipation, I am now officially judge of the 98th District Court. Thank you, Daniella DeSeta-Lyttle for administering the oath of office and sharing this special day with me.
Thank you Travis County voters for checking that box and making your voices heard. I will strive to be a public servant my mom would be proud of and look forward to serving with an open mind and a compassionate heart.

Thank you George Morales III and Central Texas Food Bank for taking care of our community. Providing Thanksgiving meals ensures families look forward to the holiday, and we will continue to support your efforts to ensure this is a season everyone gets to enjoy.
And thank you, Manuel Puente and Danielle with the George Morales Dove Springs Rec Center for leading by example. We were lucky enough to be paired up with them and they absolutely kept us on task!

Thank you, JT Walker for bringing us La Gloria, a story that humanizes immigration and its complexities, a story as pertinent as ever. David Morse and Jaklyn Bejarano brought their characters to life in a real and poignant way.
Showing us how two people with seemingly nothing in common but their humanity come to care for and respect each other is perhaps a life lesson we can all learn.
I have been fortunate enough to have a creative outlet that helps me take a break from the rigors of life so that I can be better prepared to deal with whatever comes my way.
Thank you and for understanding this and working with me for so many years!
Thank you sis, Savannah, Lysette, Stacy, Delphi, Nicole, Griselda and Vero for making this a fun night, and Jennyframe for getting me through it seemlessly! Note to self: more of this!

What an enjoyable evening attending the GAHCC Sol y Luna gala last week. It was nice catching up with friends and meeting new ones, but it was even nicer celebrating the accomplishments of Latinos and supporters in our community. So many people showing their support for GAHCC and using their voice to advance its mission.
So I thought it was fitting on this day when - now more than ever- our voices matter. Showing up and offering support is great, but now the next step. If you want your voice heard, one of the most powerful ways to do this is to VOTE, AND TODAY IS THE DAY.

I had the privilege of attending a Todos Juntos Learning Center Cafecito last week and am grateful for the invite (gracias Delphi Alvizo)!
One of Austin’s great kept secrets (we need to change this so spread the word), its mission is to support the academic and social well-being of parents and children through education, empowerment and community support.
One woman’s story in particular resonated with me because she reminded me so much of my mom. As it turns out, that was the case for several of us - because we all have similar immigrant stories.
I have signed up to volunteer wherever they need me (and if you know Delphi you know that call will come). Visit todosjuntoslc.org to learn more and see how you can help!

I received this text from my niece on the first day of early voting this past Monday.
A newly minted voter, she’s attending UT and understood the assignment.
Not gonna lie, I love hearing/reading “I VOTED FOR YOU!!”
TU VOTO ES TU VOZ AHORA MAS QUE NUNCA!
GO VOTE EARLY THROUGH NOV 1.

Happy to see folks at the annual breakfast fundraiser in support of the George Morales Dove Springs Rec Center Backpack & School Supply Drive.
These events will always have a special place in my heart. I know many of us - at one time or another - benefitted from the kindness of folks stepping up to help us with school supplies, shoes or clothes. But it wasn’t until I got older that I realized how stressful back to school was for my mom and countless other parents.
So I am honored to pay it forward and invite those of you in a position to do so to join me. There are plenty of back to school fundraisers this time of year so pick one or pick them all y vamonos!
