Little Boat Stuff

Some of my favorite artists, creative crushes, and closest friends have turned their crafts into their primary source of income. It's incredible, and so well deserved, and I maybe always knew it was never going to be me. little boat stuff was born of COVID cabin fever, and some other s**t I was going through at the time. It absolutely changed my life...just not in the way it usually does when someone says starting a small business changed their life. For me, it opened the possibility of going back to school for design - and I did. I set aside my near-decade of experience in healthcare administration (and the master's degree that went with it) to go back to school for design. First graphic, then visual, then I found my way to UX. UX design was perhaps the thing I'd been looking for all this time. I finally found something that made sense for my brain.
little boat stuff isn't really going anywhere, but maybe that's why I'm writing this. It's not really going anywhere. Since selling my car and moving to Philly, I've realized the logistics of in-person markets (and starting over to find the community for it) is just a little out of my scope/bandwidth right now.
And then, I got the job. The one I went back to school for and spent all those absurd years of the early 2020s trying to make happen. I don't dream of labor, but if I did, it's pretty much this job. It is so awkward to write on the page that hosts my creative outlet that actually structured corporate life kind of suits me, but damn it really kinda does. At this time there are no plans to close up shop or shut down my little weird corner of this place, there just aren't really any plans to grow it either.
I've got some products I made.. six months ago.. that I should probably get up on the site. I'll do that soon. If it's alright with y'all though, I think part of what I'd like to use this space for is to get back to making art that I'm just making because I want to. Some will be for sale, some might not be, hope you'll stick around either way.
And sometimes, when I get around to it, I'll also be talking about books and reading over on b 🐝

I did have these at my last event in Austin and someone asked if I would make 'em in camo and I love that idea sooo... I'ma do that too. All made from high quality neoprene, none of that foam s**t that gets all gross and wet.

Once upon a time I heard someone say that their business was born of making the things they wanted more of (or that they wanted, but didn't exist). Bet. I can do that. I *really* do not like the cold wet condensation of any given beverage, so I've made more ways to navigate the sensory ick that plagues me while also making people laugh and/or striking up important political conversations.
Coming soon to little boat stuff: coffee cup/pint sleeve koozees. These little guys are perfect for a trip to the coffee shop or your neighborhood pub, and yeah I basically always have one in my purse.
