She Who Knows

The confidence came after surviving things that were meant to break me.

What stands out to me is that people often assume confidence comes from success.

But more often, it comes from survival.

From discovering that your heart can be broken and still remain open.

That you can lose people, lose plans, lose versions of yourself you thought would be there forever…

and still find your way forward.

The feeling I keep getting is that confidence isn’t about believing nothing will hurt you.

It’s knowing you’ve already survived things you once thought you wouldn’t.

And here you are.

🖤 The strongest people are almost never the loudest.

Usually they’re the ones carrying three times more than anyone realizes and still asking how everyone else is doing.

You don’t always recognize strength when you’re looking at it.

Sometimes it looks like kindness.

Sometimes it looks like consistency.

Sometimes it looks like somebody quietly surviving a year they never talk about.

What’s something you’ve made it through that people would never guess by looking at you?

Closure almost never arrives looking the way we think it will.

Most people imagine a conversation.
An apology.
A final explanation.

But sometimes closure is just the day you stop checking.

The day you stop wondering.

The day their name comes up and your nervous system doesn’t react anymore.

Nobody tells you that healing can be that quiet.

What’s something you thought would take you years to get over that eventually just… lost its grip?

Some people can hear a two-minute summary of your situation and immediately tell you exactly what’s going on.

Not because they’re psychic.

Not because they’re judgmental.

Because they aren’t emotionally attached to the outcome the way you are.

They’ll say:

“Baby… that’s not what this is.”

And deep down?

You already knew.

Historically, you could find:

Different skills.

Different specialties.

Different jobs.

The same way not every doctor today practices the same kind of medicine.

I think about this a lot.

Some of the most important things I’ve ever learned were never written down.

Nobody handed my grandmother a textbook.

Nobody handed her a certificate.

Nobody handed her a platform.

What she had were stories, experience, faith, and the things she learned from the people who came before her.

That’s how so much knowledge survived.

A recipe.

A prayer.

A remedy.

A warning.

A story told enough times that nobody forgot it.

When people ask why I’m so fascinated by folk traditions, family history, and the things passed down through generations, this is why.

Books matter.

Research matters.

History matters.

But there is something incredibly powerful about knowledge that survived because someone loved it enough to remember it.

Long before social media.

Long before the internet.

Long before anybody thought to write it down.
