🐾 North Texas Gives to Animals officially starts TODAY! 🐾
North Texas Giving Day launches its North Texas Gives to Animals campaign today through May 31st! This campaign supports organizations working to improve the lives of animals through education, outreach, rescue, and community programs across the region.
This year, Texas Humane Network is proud to participate, and we hope you will support our work!
As a small-staffed nonprofit organization, every donation directly impacts our ability to continue educating communities and professionals on animal welfare issues throughout Texas.
Texas Humane Network focuses on improving the lives of animals through greater awareness and understanding of animal welfare laws and humane practices.
Your support helps us:
✔ Provide educational resources on animal welfare and cruelty prevention
✔ Continue outreach efforts that strengthen understanding of existing animal protection laws
✔ Support training opportunities for law enforcement officers, animal control officers, and other professionals who may encounter animal cruelty situations
✔ Expand community education efforts that help create safer outcomes for animals
Over the years, Texas Humane Network has helped support educational trainings for law enforcement officers focused on recognizing red flags of possible animal cruelty, understanding proper response procedures, and improving awareness surrounding animal welfare protections. With community support, we hope to continue and expand these educational efforts.
For a small organization like ours, donations truly make a difference. Every contribution, no matter the size, helps us continue this important work.
Thank you for believing in education, prevention, and a more humane future for animals!

The Texas Humane Network is excited to share that we have been selected as a recipient of a grant from the Texas Bar Foundation!
This funding will help us expand education and training opportunities focused on animal-related laws, equipping those on the front lines of animal welfare with the knowledge they need to better serve their communities.
The grant from the Texas Bar Foundation will support our “Laws for Paws” annual conference, which brings together professionals, advocates, and community members to strengthen understanding of animal protection laws across Texas.
Since its inception in 1965, the Texas Bar Foundation has awarded more than $30 million in grants to law-related programs. Supported by members of the State Bar of Texas, the Texas Bar Foundation is the nation's largest charitably-funded bar foundation.
Thank you, Texas Bar Foundation, for investing in a more humane future for animals and the people who care for them. 🐾

The best way to avoid supporting puppy mills is by ADOPTING, not shopping. 👇
If you want to adopt or purchase a specific breed, some options don’t entail supporting inhumane commercial breeders.

"No one here wants to see an animal euthanized, especially a placeable pet. This is the only industry where the staff are tasked with caring for these animals and also euthanizing them," Dallas Animal Services and Adoption Center staff said.
For National Animal Shelter Appreciation Week, we want to highlight ways to show genuine appreciation for our hard-working shelters! Please help your local shelter in any way possible, whether by volunteering, adopting, rescuing, or fostering!
Right now, every shelter in Texas is struggling. It’s a cycle: staffing shortages lead to an increase in euthanasia, which leads to more employee burnout. The solution, they say, lies in people who can help through fostering, even if only for the weekend.

Dallas Animal Service workers receiving death threats over euthanizing animals The DAS director says she is working to combat misinformation on social media that she says has led to death threats to staff members “Most of the threats have been threats to euthanize our staff after reports, often false reports, that an animal has been euthanized."
