What would I say today to the girl in the 2001 picture?
 
-You are so much more capable than what you’ve been told to believe & feel about yourself and your self worth.
 
-Put down the damn tweezers.
 
-Wear SPF & stay out of the sun for goodness’ sake.
 
The 2001 picture was taken the night before my wedding.  I was only 23yrs old!  I had no idea where my life would lead me over the next 21 years.
 
I’ve wondered if I should share my story here, & I’m not sure what the right thing to do is, but after going to my 25th high school reunion this weekend it’s made me realize how far I (& my poor 90’s brows) have come so I’ll share a snippet.
 
I’ve gone from growing up in a materialistically comfortable life that was built on a house of cards, to being a dentist’s wife, to getting divorced & squandering every penny I had because I hadn’t been taught any bit of financial literacy by my parents, to selling every piece of jewelry & clothing I had to pay my rent, to having to move into a stranger’s home to rent a bedroom since I couldn’t afford my own rental, to having my car repossessed, to living off of free cookies & coffee at the salon where I rented a room because I couldn’t afford to eat, to so many more experiences that I won’t bore you with. I hit rock bottom & was stuck there for over 6 years, but I was determined to claw my way out.
 
And I’ve done just that (& still doing it).
 
I’ve busted my t**h & worked harder than anyone can even imagine getting to where I am today, and I’m FOREVER grateful for the generosity of friends that helped me along the way.
 
To anyone who’s struggling- hang in there & never stop believing in yourself & all the amazing things you can imagine for yourself!  It’s ALL possible.  I’m living proof of going from car repossession to beauty obsession & I’m just getting started! 💗
