Will miss the bloom but not the sweltering heat. Until next time, summer •••

Hellurrrr, anyone there? Oh good, my Instagram still works! Here's a couple of shots of me manifesting Lady of the Manor at this jaw-dropping Airbnb. If you think the exterior is beautiful, just wait till you see the interior...😍

Live from the Motherland where the days are a little slower, the food tastes better, and the memories never fade. I love ringing in the New Year back home and surrounded by family. It's been all about catching up, enjoying authentic Nigerian food (the kind that brings back forgotten childhood memories) and fruit picking over here 🌴🍐

I'm still convinced this isn't real life but in fact it is! "I'll travel next year," I said to myself each year but never planned towards it. This year was THE YEAR though! And we couldn't have picked a more magical place than Zanzibar for a first girls trip! Believe it, the hype you've heard is real

Today's Random thoughts:
♡ We're real close to swapping out down jackets for something lighter (once we get through all these freeze and frost warnings) in Maryland, and I'm here for it! 💐
♡ Anxious and excited to see an orthodontist for the very first time this week! I see some sort of braces in my future 😬
♡ It's not easy finding people who can handle black hair with care. TLC is more than just an acronym 😒

It feels more like Fall and less like Spring over here in Maryland. I'm still wearing heat tech turtlenecks, jackets, and sometimes coats.
Come rain, come shine though, I rememeber to be very grateful for all that's happened this year - for people, love, laughter and adventure. Grateful is my word for the month of April. What's yours?

The COVID-19 pandemic era will always be a part of our history. Yes - it brought us remote work but it also brought us so much death and pain. COVID took loved ones away from me, a loss that maybe could have been avoided by a choice to say yes to the vaccine sooner than later, in some cases.
In my line of work as a clinical researcher, I am privileged to be working on an observational study analyzing the immune response of the COVID-19 vaccine in both healthy and immunocompromised individuals. I've connected and conversed with immunocompromised patients who openly discuss their experience with the vaccine, particularly their 'why'. They want to 'live life' just like you and I, but they can't because of their weak or compromised immune system - to the extent that some are homebound. This means that for every illness you're likely to get, they're 10x more vulnerable due to their condition. My experience with these patients gave me a completely new perspective. The way I see it now, I don't mask up just for my protection, and I didn't get the vaccine only for my protection. Rather, I realized that by protecting myself, I'm able to protect people with a reduced ability to fight infections and diseases as well. So as of today, I am vaccinated and boosted against COVID-19. Plus I'm already planning my 2nd vacation of the year, and it's super important that I don't pose a risk to anyone on my travels.
Trust science, be a good neighbor, and be your brother's keeper. Make a vaccine appointment today, and if you have any questions, it's best to discuss them with your physician for guidance. Remember, the vaccine is completely free, even if you don’t have health insurance or aren’t a U.S. citizen. If you're in Baltimore City or Maryland and ready to roll, there's a link in my bio for you to make that appointment today

I went from being in the office 5 days a week to being fully remote for 1.5 years then hybrid Having the opportunity to work from home and have flexible hours has significantly improved my quality of life, and I am very grateful for it 💞
Just this morning, I took a work break to attend a Zumba class🕺, which will allow me more time this evening to attend to other tasks
Just this week alone, I've done a major meal prep consisting of three soups/stews (banga soup, chicken stew, and ogbono soup, I've been throwing it down quite alot 🤣) - it was a major task but pushed it out of the way and I'm set for weeks now. If you've viewed my stories, you've likely seen all of it.
It also allows me wake up earlier or later in the morning and still have time for myself and get mentally prepared for the day.
Overall, stress is to a minimum!!
I'm just grateful that telework is becoming a standard option across the globe now.
This is what I'm grateful for this week - what about you? ♥️
