Everyone experiences trauma differently and this is not a comprehensive list of what trauma can look like. 💕 But what this can show you is that you are not alone. The store idea may not be the same, but the need to heal is.
Sounds easy enough right? 🌈 But can you lot go of the past and stop trying to control he future? Recovery works best when we stay present and deal with today’s issues.
Do you believe it when they say ‘sowing up is half the battle?’ 💕 Because we sure do… and showing up when you don’t feel 100% is just as important as when you do.
The most important slide out of this deck is the sixth slide. 🦋 What do you need to prioritize to get you through the week? Develop a mantra to keep you grounded and out of shame and fear.
If we can honestly see the signs earlier, we stand a better chance of stopping sooner. 🌿 Do you need to assess your relationship with alcohol? Have you noticed changes in your relationship and patterns with alcohol?
It’s never too soon to seek professional help either through therapy or recovery if you are struggling to balance your life against substances.
The negative self talk in early recovery is something they may not warn you about, but it is something you can get through! 💕 You know you want to change, you know you need to get clean… just let all that self doubt run it course, keep powering through and it will get easier.
We do not get better in silence. 🌿 Whether it is from your past or it’s going on right now, you are allowed to find peace.
Hope builds as you begin to trust yourself. 🌞 Attend meetings, journal, be there for another addict, do all the things that will make you feel good and prove you will show up for yourself. You are the hope my dear, you got this.
In recovery we do not glorify our pain and trauma, we connect through it. 💟 The courage to overcome shame and regret and open up inspires others to do the same and together we can find solace.
