So much has changed in kitchen design the past few years. The all white kitchen has given way to splashes of color. Admittedly, I have a white kitchen combined with a large kitchen island in a dark blue color, but I've been drawn to the return to natural wood cabinets as well. I think I'll have to stick with my current combination since we just had them painted a couple years ago. There's only so much I can talk my husband into. 😆

I LOVE a good area rug! 🤩 It's such a simple and easy way to update the look of any space. If I start to feel bored with the way a room in my house looks, the area rug is usually the first thing to get updated. What do you think about keeping plants in your shower? I know so many people who do this. Plants apparently THRIVE in showers because they love the humidity. I've thought about doing this because I love plants and I'm running out of places to put them. Ha! 😂 If you have plants in your bathroom, how's that working for you?

Can we talk about gallery walls? What's your opinion on these? My brain thrives on minimalism, but I also love a gallery wall that's done properly. It's a great way to display photos and special pieces of art work all while creating a home that's unique and represents your personality. What do you think? Are gallery walls still in or do you think they should see their way out? (Don't forget this is all in good fun. I strongly believe people should surround themselves with things they love even if it isn't the "in" thing to do. ✌️)

The weather in Texas is always crazy and you never really know what to expect from one day to the next. I do love dreaming about the summer nights though. Summers are for family and time for kids to just be kids. It's right around the corner and I can't wait! (Remind me of this when it's August and 150 degrees outside. 😂)

Some days you need to just drop the kids off at school then come home and crawl back in to bed. Who's with me? 😴 I don't know who's idea it was to have school start so early in the morning. I'm still looking for a school that doesn't start until noon. I'm so not a morning person and waking up before the sun rises goes against everything my brain tells me I should be doing. 😂

Is anyone else obsessed with baskets? Like, seriously obsessed. If there's any area in my house that feels untidy, my go-to solution has always been a basket. I have baskets for blankets, baskets for shoes, baskets in my pantry, baskets in the garage, pretty much everywhere you can think of. I adore this Verona Vintage Basket.
