PERRY: That brings me to this repeat offender: Jell-O salad.
Granted, in the most-skilled kitchens and with the greatest care, gelatin can be transmuted into the rare delectable aspic, panatone or souffle. But in the hands of your sister, armed with Cool Whip — whatever the hell that is — Miracle Whip, stale pecans, mercilessly canned peaches and pineapple that never did anything to anybody, cottage cheese, colored marshmallows, various boxes of instant pudding, and the most galling element of all, shredded carrots, well, let’s just say courts have stood in the way of punishments far less cruel.

“I think anyone who grew up in Aurora during that time frame has very fond memories of the sign and the theater of itself,” Clark said. “It’s really important to us now to maintain the flavor of that area and restore that iconic sign so that a whole new generation of Aurorans can recognize it and make their own memories there.”

“The mural is a beautiful celebration of the arts in Aurora,” said Helen R. Murray, Executive Producer for the Aurora Fox Arts Center. “It tells the story of the Aurora Fox’s history. From its time as a movie palace during the latter part of the golden age of cinema, to the fire that destroyed it in the 1980s, and finally to its rebirth as the award-winning live theatre and arts center that it is today.”

For decades, the City of Denver allowed dozens of companies including Conoco, Coors and Hewlett Packard — and some metro-area cities — to dump 138 million gallons of toxic waste on the land, enough to fill over 200 olympic-sized swimming pools, according to Environmental Protection Agency records.
Evidence shows the site has leaked toxic chemicals aboveground and underground, including tributaries which flow into Murphy Creek - all upstream from current and future development sites. @ Murphy Creek, Aurora, Colorado
