This happened today! Our Michelle Hoffman is retiring from the BDC and DAISY/TEDDY after 33 years!
To many of you, Michelle has been an important part of your child's research experience; for some she was your "go-to" nurse at the time of diagnosis.
For the staff, she has loved and mentored us, supporting our
professional growth for decades...yes for decades!
We wish you all of the best as you shift from being "the mother of the Rewers' studies" to Mama and Ama to L&O!

As TEDDY Study Colorado is completing the last of our 15 year visits this month, we want to share our most recent publication summarizing all of the analyses to date. Thank you all for your contribution!
Looking back at the TEDDY study: lessons and future directions - Nature Reviews Endocrinology This Review outlines the screening, enrolment and recruitment challenges in the TEDDY (The Environmental Determinants of Diabetes in the Young) study. The key findings related to the first primary end point are discussed, and future directions of study are highlighted.

Dr. Lernmark has been the Principal Investigator for TEDDY's Sweden site and a member of our Steering Committee since 2002. He is receiving EASD's highest award in recognition of his lifetime work in diabetes research. Congratulations!

Congratulations to Dr. Jill Norris, one of our Colorado investigators and the co-chair of the TEDDY Diet Committee. She has been awarded the Kelly M. West Award for Outstanding Achievement in Epidemiology by the American Diabetes Association.
