Set up is such a crucial part of golf in the golf swing. Lately I’ve been really focusing on being mindful of my set up and taking the time to feel where my body, weight distribution ,my grip , posture among other things. My dad had always told me that our golf swing is a reaction to our set up. I understood it intellectually but still was trying to swing a certain way instead of putting my energy into a solid setup. I feel like the lightbulb went off for me after going to the masters this year and watching how every player meticulously took the time to get set up correctly. It seemed like they wouldn’t hit it until they knew they were precisely ready and the set up felt right. After that…..held nothing back …. and let it rip. Each of our authentic swings are in a big way, a reaction to our set up. Once you’ve done that, let it go and “swing your swing”
