It's only March, but we are already gearing up for the 2026 Cross For LifeFlight!

We are delighted to announce the recipient of the 2025 Founder’s Prize, which is given each year to the participant who embodies the spirit, intention, will, and grit of event founder Jessie Davis.

🎉This year’s recipient is Hollye Lord!🎉

Her nomination is as follows: "Hollye is a true example of grit and determination. In May of 2024, she was transported by LifeFlight after she was thrown off her horse. Just a little over a year later, she took part in her first Cross for LifeFlight and Crossed a whopping 85 miles! She was also a top fundraiser, raising more than $6,000.

Additionally, Hollye embodied the spirit of the Cross for LifeFlight. She traveled all the way from Meddybemps to Pownal to take part in the group hike and to meet other Grateful Patients. She also shared her Crossing on social media, allowing others to follow along on her journey. I think Hollye embodies the spirit of the Cross, and I am impressed by all that she accomplished this summer!”

After receiving the award, Hollye said, "My first Cross for LifeFlight has been such a healing journey for me. Gratitude can be such a big, heavy thing to carry around and this has given me an outlet for some of that gratitude and the weight doesn’t feel so heavy anymore. It has been amazing the number of people who have donated and joined me in supporting the mission of LifeFlight of Maine. I’ll definitely be crossing again next year."

More than 90 people have come together this summer to raise $192,600 in the Cross for LifeFlight! Right now, we are just $7,400 short of our $200,000 goal and we need your help!

Participants completed their challenges by hiking, swimming, running, and other activities, crossing more than 3,700 miles in Maine. Every mile crossed and every dollar raised ensures that the next person in Maine who faces a life-threatening medical emergency—a friend, a family member, a neighbor, a fellow Mainer, or a visitor coming here to explore—has access to advanced critical care when and where they need it.

Despite working around the clock caring for the people of Maine, this year we had our largest Crew Team ever, with 25 members! Together, they raised more than $23,000 to give back to the state they love and the mission they so deeply believe in. Support our crew team, and all of our other participants, by making a donation today and helping us reach our goal.

Given in honor of Jessie Davis, who founded the event in 2013, this award is presented to participants who embody Jessie’s spirit, intention, will and grit. This person (or team) demonstrates a deep passion for LifeFlight’s mission and has achieved significant fundraising success.
