✝ We have Christ. We have the Church. We have one another. And we have our patron St. Michael the Archangel through whom we can ask for protection. This week let us pray for the wisdom to recognize the enemy’s lies, for the courage to resist them, and for the grace to remain close to Jesus Christ so that we can help one another live in the freedom of God’s children.

"But God proves his love for us in that while we were still sinners Christ died for us.
How much more then, since we are now justified by his blood, will we be saved through him from the wrath."

We invite you to join us for Mass this weekend at one of the six St. Michael Parish churches across the capital region:
✝ St. Mary, Augusta
✝ St. Augustine, Augusta
✝ St. Francis Xavier, Winthrop
✝ St. Joseph, Gardiner
✝ St. Denis, Whitefield
✝ Sacred Heart, Hallowell

Join the Sacred Heart Church, Hallowell community for a picnic potluck on June 14th following the 5:00pm Mass. Hot dogs and sliders will be provided; please bring a side dish or dessert to share (salads, chips, coleslaw)! We look forward to seeing you there!

Today, June 11, 2026, as part of the celebration of the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, the U.S. bishops will consecrate the United States of America to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Bishops are encouraging U.S. Catholics to join in celebrating the consecration of our nation to the Sacred Heart by contributing to 250 Hours of Adoration and 250 Works of Mercy in their parishes.

Adoration and service opportunities are available on our website's parish calendar. Additional information can be found on the Devotions page, Adoration Chapel page, and Social Justice & Food Ministry pages of our website.

🫶The weekends of June 13/14 and June 20/21 the St. Michael Parish Social Justice and Peace commission is collecting paper towels, toilet paper, and disinfecting wipes to donate to the United Community Living Center. Donation bins will be set up at all Parish churches.

Last year we collected 619 rolls of toilet paper and 219 rolls of paper towels! There is still a great need for these products in our community.

➡ Have you noticed a maintenance need at one of our Parish churches, cemeteries, or other properties? The best way to communicate it to the Pastoral Office is via our website, using the form on the 'Contact Us' page - direct link in comments below.

➡A reminder to please remove all decorations and flowers (except those in a cement urn) from Parish cemeteries by this Sunday, June 14th. Any items left after this date will be cleared away the following week. Over time, several cement urns have been abandoned at the cemetery, hindering our ability to maintain the grounds effectively. Given the rising fuel costs and its impact on perpetual care funds, we urge families to take the initiative this summer to remove any unused urns and free-standing statues. Please ensure these items are taken home and refrain from disposing of them on cemetery property or adjacent private property.

✝️The Church exists for mission. The Eucharist takes us deeper into that truth. The Church makes the Eucharist, and the Eucharist makes the Church. We come to the altar from many towns, families, burdens, and histories. Here, Christ receives us, forgives us, feeds us, and makes us one. Then He sends us out.

✝ "Amen, amen, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you do not have life within you. Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him on the last day. "

As we celebrate the Feast of Corpus Christi this weekend, we invite you to join us for Mass and for our Corpus Christi celebration/farewell to Fr. Dass at St. Augustine on Sunday afternoon.
