Happy National Trails Day! 🌲

From local trails to lakeside paths and wooded preserves, our communities have so many great places to get outside. I hope folks get a chance to enjoy some fresh air today.

On June 6, 1944, thousands of Allied troops stormed the beaches of Normandy.

Today, we honor the bravery, sacrifice, and resolve of those who served on D-Day. Their courage helped change the course of history, and we owe them our lasting gratitude.

Pride is a time to celebrate Maine’s LGBTQ+ community and recommit to the work of making sure everyone can live with dignity, safety, and respect.

I’m proud to stand with LGBTQ+ Mainers, their families and the many people across our communities who continue working toward equality for all.

This weekend, May 30 and 31, any person (except those whose license has been suspended or revoked) may fish without a license. All other laws and regulations apply on these days.

Communication on the road is essential. Riders and cyclists use hand signals to indicate turns, stops, and hazards, especially if lights fail. Among bikers, two fingers pointed toward the road is the traditional “biker wave,” meaning “keep two wheels on the ground” and wishing fellow riders a safe journey. Know these signals, stay alert, and always prioritize safety while riding and driving.

Today, we remember the Americans who have made the ultimate sacrifice during service in the U.S. Military.
