DID YOU KNOW!!! Homeless Shelters are first come, first serve and do not guarantee a spot at the shelter. Be grateful for what you have, there are those who do not have a roof over there head.

The Augusta Commission has approved a strategic plan, and The Augusta Homelessness Task Force currently has active committees to address housing, employment, mental health, street outreach, emergency services and criminal justice. The CSRA community has seen a spike of 108 homeless persons in the last two years. This number grew from 470 in 2020 to a staggering 578 in 2022. This includes 58 children who either live in shelters or on the streets.

HEALTH IS WEALTH!!! Addiction and untreated physical and mental health issues plague our homeless who often lack transportation and the ability to keep up prescriptions.

With the recent economic difficulties, rent has become more expensive in Augusta. Causing a SHARP increase in homelessness in the area. Just 3 years ago, apartments in Augusta that were $750-$950 per month today are $1100-$1500. People already on tight or fixed budgets are often evicted.
