Today, Governor Janet Mills and the Maine CDC announced that, consistent with guidance from professional and expert medical organizations, access to this year’s COVID-19 vaccine will be expanded and recommended to more Mainers, including all adults 18 years or older.

Supplies may be limited in the short term – please contact your physician or pharmacist to confirm availability and eligibility.

So great to see the community support for Narragansett Elementary School band students, who will be now able to learn and enjoy their “new” instruments. 🎷

Your musical instrument donations outfitted the entire 5th grade band at Narragansett Elementary School in Gorham! We dropped them off with the music teacher today.

This is HUGE! And it's literally just the tip of the iceberg. We received hundreds of instruments this summer and they're going all across the state and into the hands of aspiring young musicians.

Maine Public was so happy to have the support of Music Drives Us this summer. Cheers to encouraging music education in schools!

With the heat wave predicted for our region over the next couple of days, Baxter Memorial Library (71 South Street) will serve as a cooling center during the following hours:

On this Intentional Nurses Day, join me in thanking nurses for all that they do!

I’ve put this initiative forward to directly address Maine’s climate crisis. By putting a price on pollution, we prioritize people and make critical investments that allow our communities to become more resilient.

THANK YOU Senator Stacy Brenner for boldly leading the charge in Maine to "ensure that the costs of climate disruption aren’t just shouldered by the Maine taxpayers affected, but by the global fossil fuel companies that helped create this crisis." Large oil and gas companies have known for DECADES (!) about climate change and its existential implications for people and the environment. It’s only right and fair that they help pay for the solutions.
