🎈 Crafting at Camp is ALWAYS Fun! 🎈
Today our campers learned balloon twisting and created their own colorful balloon animals! They practiced fine motor skills, creativity, patience, and following directions — all while having a blast.

Today, our campers stepped back in time by making Pioneer Butter—a hands-on activity that blends history with practical homesteading skills. Campers learned how early settlers churned their own butter, explored the resourcefulness of life on the land, and experienced the satisfying transformation from cream to butter. It was a fun, educational, and delicious way to connect with the past!

🧩 Engineering With Wood Kits
Some students are building laser-cut wooden mechanical models, fitting the pieces together like a puzzle. These require:
• Spatial reasoning
• Fine motor control
• Following multi-step engineering diagrams
• Understanding how structure supports function

🔌 Circuit Building & Electronics Exploration
Students are assembling small battery-powered circuits using:
• Battery holders
• Wires
• LEDs
• Motors
• Mini screwdrivers
• Pegboards for mounting
They’re following illustrated instructions, connecting components, and learning how electricity flows — a foundational STEM skill.
The LifeSkills course at DeKel hosted by MPACT Co-Op Association is transforming learning from the inside out! Our middle and high school students are engaging with real-world experiences, real skills, in real time. This dynamic course covers everything from insurance, credit, and home purchases to safety, consumer protection, communicable diseases, and workplace readiness.The impact has been remarkable — students aren’t just learning these concepts, they’re retaining them and confidently applying their knowledge to everyday life. 💡🙌At DeKel, we’re building informed, capable young adults who are prepared for the world ahead.
