Dear Disney…

As someone who has developed a deep appreciation for Butterflies, Hummingbirds, and all pollinators, I would like to share an idea that would be both educational as well as memorable for families visiting Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground.

As more families seek meaningful outdoor experiences, the creation of a PERMANENT Butterfly habitat and nature center located at the campground would be a perfect addition!
Although wonderful to see it at Epcot during the Flower and Garden Festival, I think families would greatly enjoy and benefit from a dedicated habitat where they could view the entire lifecycle while learning about conservation and Florida’s wildlife.

Such an exhibit would not only enhance the guest experience, but would serve as a lasting investment in our environment. It’s a great opportunity for kids to slow down, explore nature, and witness the metamorphosis while camping. Encouraging and fostering a love for nature is what it’s all about.

This weekend is all about Dad!!

To the Dads that say YES to the Camping trip!
Then lead the family bike rides, tell the stories, play checkers in front of the Settlement store, go fishing, carry the sleeping kids back to the campsite…
AND definitely earn the title of King of the Campfire grill!! 😎

A bit of up-to-date Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground info for you…

If you are interested in a canoe or kayak rental, they are currently unavailable due to the low water level. Orlando needs approximately a month of good rains before that will reopen. That means we are probably looking at late July.
But… there are other things to do.

The Recreation Activity sheet is for both June and July.

Insider Tips -
Disney’s Fort Wilderness

1) Best Loops to Request?
Well that depends on what you value most. Want to be close to the boat launch to Magic Kingdom?
100 and 200 Loops (Preferred campsite type).
Do your kids want walking distance to the pool?
600, 1400 (premium meadow) 1300 (premium)
Walking distance, however, is subjective.

2) Best Transportation for getting around the campground?
Rent a Golf Cart, Bikes (or bring your own)
The campground is huge and I highly doubt you want to walk all that this summer! 😂
Internal bus transportation is not bad, but you could be waiting for a bit.

3) Best breakfast spot?
If you are utilizing one of our camper rentals, save money and cook at your campsite! We provide an electric skillet, griddle, mickey waffle maker in deluxe models. Or head over to Boma at Animal Kingdom for a HUGE buffet! Thank us later 😆

4) ‼️ Free Water Park
Free Water Park admission on check-in day is included with your stay May 26 - September 8
The campgrounds will not be included for this benefit in 2027!

This sweet little camper rental can sleep 4 comfortably having a super comfy Queen and 2 twins!
It is like a small cocoon but big on charm!! ❤️
