Bid high and bid often!

"Morning Mist" is a recent watercolor that I created from photos I took very early one morning in Yosemite Valley when the mist was rising from the river. It can be yours if you tune into KVIE Channel 6 at 6:30 tomorrow evening (October 1) and call 844-584-3278 and place the highest bidder on the annual KVIE Art Auction. For more information on bidding, visit the website kvie.org/artauction. Item number is 44 B, it is in the "California Masters" segment. The value is $1,600. The painting measures 29" x 33" framed. This painting was juried into the Watercolor West International Exhibition in 2022, and won Signature Status for me with that organization.

More OLAS memories

Photos from OLAS's post 01/05/2018

It is with great sadness that we, the artists of the Old Library Art Studios (OLAS), must report that we were just told by the City of Auburn to vacate our studios in the Carnegie Library on Almond Street. The Arts Council of Placer County, which had originally developed and supported the OLAS program, unexpectedly dropped support for us in December.

We are grateful to have had our studios in this magnificent building, and we took pride in doing what we could to maintain it, make it even better and share it with the community. In addition to creating our art, we have hosted many events at the Carnegie Library including the Art Walks, Studios Tours, classes, meetings, celebrations, award ceremonies, lectures and more. We are enormously grateful to the Rotary Club and local businesses for assisting us in creating the beautiful gardens and walkways around the building. We continue to maintain and improve these gardens.

We do not know what the city will decide to do with the Carnegie Library building now. It is a gem and should be preserved so it will continue to be a resource for the arts and our community in the future. We will dearly miss it.
