At The Oaks Collaborative, we collaborate with college ministries and churches to host retreats, connecting students with upperclassmen to cultivate meaningful relationships with Christ and others. Our mission is to collaborate with local churches and ministries to create opportunities that cultivate meaningful relationships in the lives of college students to connect them to Christ and His Church, to be equipped to grow, and to be sent out to make a difference.

Just 1 month until our 2026 retreat season begins!
Starting July 17 and over the weeks that follow, students across the country will attend one of our 25 retreats designed to help incoming freshmen and transfer students find their people, find their place, and find their purpose before classes begin.
Through each retreat these students find Christ-centered community, local churches, campus ministries, and upperclassmen mentors. They can start college already connected and known!

Anna came to UAB from a smaller suburb and knowing no one. Two things that caused her to be super nervous heading into college. Thankfully she found The Forge Retreat and was introduced to new friends, a church to attend and someone that discipled her through those first years of college.
Anna is now a senior, in her second year as one of the Director’s of The Forge Retreat and looking forward to meeting this incoming class of freshmen headed to UAB, Samford and area Birmingham colleges.

This year, 2 million high school seniors will step onto a college campus for the first time.
Many organizations understand that the first few weeks of college can shape the next four years and the rest of their lives. That's why they work hard to connect with students early.
We believe the Church should have that opportunity too.
Before students ever arrive on campus, we host 3-day, 2-night retreats in 25 locations across the country, helping these students start college rooted in Christ and connected to Christ-centered community.

Mason grew up in church and came to college knowing that getting plugged into a church was the right thing to do and something his parents were hoping for him.
He attended one of our retreats thinking he would simply find a few more friends and then check out “college life.” What he found at the retreat were upperclassmen leaders who were truly interested in his story and walk with the Lord, local churches and ministries to strengthen and support him, and a newfound faith that was all his own.

Our Ambassador Program is a place for anyone who wants to see students across the country start college rooted in Christ and Christ-centered community. Ambassadors can do a variety of things from reaching out to youth pastors or high schools to committing to engaging with and reposting social media. We know every person has a circle of influence. YOU can be the reason a freshman finds Christ-centered community in college!

Launching a new retreat location takes lots of prayer, commitment from our New Retreats Team, faithful partnering donors, and motivated students and ministry partners on the ground helping make it happen.
Because of these people and the Lord’s provision we’re grateful to announce TWO more retreats joining our 2026 lineup, bringing us to 25 retreats across 15 states!
These retreats exist to help incoming students start college rooted in Christ and surrounded by Christ-centered community before they even step foot on campus.
