This is what was somewhat shoring up a house for a client of mine, and they had no idea this was present. The house showed no signs of distress, so you never know what your going to get. People, please be careful before you purchase a home.

This is one of MANY reasons why a home inspection can be worth every penny. This is a picture of the exhaust vent pipe for a water heater that was disconnected when the homes roof was replaced, causing a serious carbon monoxide poisoning opportunity in the master bedroom for the occupants of the home. That could have been an unwanted Christmas present (death) for the new home owner.

Here is why tank water heaters located in attic spaces should be viewed annually. I always suggest that better support of the expansion tank or metal piping should be installed to prevent what has happened in this home. It is a miracle that active hot water leakage has not occurred yet in the attic space of this vacant home for sale! An once of prevention is worth a pound of cure.

Here are some pictures of a brand new home. So when someone says, "it's a brand new home! Why should we have an inspection? It should be perfect!" This is exactly why! You never know what is going on behind the scenes.

Well, to say that this is a safety hazard would be the understatement of the year! This is an electrical panel in the bathroom. The BATHROOM! The electrical outlet is also strategically placed in a good location to kill you as well.

Thought process......some people don't have it. If you look at the first picture, you'll see a closer outlet. No need for the dangerous splice exposed next to the flammable wood paneling.

Pool noodles are really recommended for supply piping protection from freezing, although it is creative.

With all the rain we have had recently, especially around this time of year with all the leaves/pine straw falling and collecting on roof surfaces, please check your attic spaces for roof leaks.

You never know what someone will do prior to selling a home. To say that this needs a plumber is an understatement.

So, the homeowner of this house had no idea that there was a water leak coming from inside the crawl space serving the water heater. Warm misty water is a nightmare scenario for a crawl space. There was mold growth as far as the eye could see. Of corse I got an ear full from the home owner about this.

New construction (2 years old-original owner selling) in Opelika the other day. The roofers used the chimney flue as a make shift garbage chute and left the debris inside the fire place flue. When I opened the damper, this was what I saw from underneath. I told the home owner how lucky he was not to ever have used his fireplace because it had a good chance of catching the house on fire.
