Build more: servant leaders, sustainable homes and strong families for God's glory! ARM uses servant leadership and service-learning models as the main form of discipleship ministry which then helps families receive vital home repairs. The goal is to make their homes warm,

Memorial Day: Remembering, today, those who gave it all. "Greater love has no one than this, that they lay down their life for their friends". John 15:13. Lord, we ask your prayers of courage, love, compassion, and wisdom for all of our service members. We lift up the families who honor legacies and whose grief may be very real and tangible today. In your mercy, Lord, hear our prayer.

Fifty days after Easter, the birth of the Church. The Spirit is given! Thousands become disciples of Jesus. May we see it again! Revive us, O' Lord! May your heart be strangely warmed for Jesus today!

A full day walking through the Legacy Museum. We connected early slavery to the modern day slavery of mass incarceration. We connected poverty and racism. We asked heavy questions of ourselves about the ways Jesus and His church are to come alongside the broken, marginalized, and oppressed. What does justice, mercy, and compassion really look like? How can we share that through home repair and ministry with children and youth?

Thanks to Rev. Richard Williams, Senior Pastor of Metroplitan UMC and director of the Beacon Center and Rev. Brian Miller, Advancement Director of Huntingdon College, and Christina Miller, for facilitating our discussion and reflection!

We heard it’s National Do Good for Your Neighbor Day! How appropriate as our summer staff start arriving and preparing for training! In just three weeks, mission teams from around the Southeast will join us serving through home repair and children’s ministry in East Alabama.

They will replace roofs, build wheelchair ramps, rebuild floors and anything to make a home warm, safe, and dry. They will also minister to elementary aged children all summer at SonShine Kids Daycamp!

Together, we will be the Body of Christ!

“How does God’s love abide in anyone who has the world’s goods and sees a brother or sister in need and refuses to help”?

Congratulations to our friend and former colleague, Whit Heath!!! He will be an amazing addition at First Methodist Opelika!

We are excited to announce Whit Heath as the next Student Minister at First Methodist Church of Opelika!

Whit begins on Sunday, May 31, and we are grateful to celebrate this new season of ministry with him and his family.

We also want to express our deep gratitude for Rick and Chona Lane and for more than 43 years of faithful ministry among our students and families. Their love, leadership, and investment have shaped generations.

As we look ahead, we are excited for our students to continue growing in faith, following Jesus, and discovering the Spirit-led life together.

Please join us in celebrating Whit, giving thanks for Rick and Chona, and praying for all God has ahead.
