Anyone looking to take in a black Australorp young rooster???

We thought maybe it was a hen but now it’s bigger than the rest and has some green shiny shading on its back and the goblet thing is definitely more prominent than the others…

‼️Disclaimer:⚠️  We ordered hens, but they said sometimes people receive a rooster because you can’t tell when they are babies.

We wouldn’t mind having one if they didn’t become so loud, because they do protect the flock…however, per our city guidelines we aren’t technically permitted to have one. It hasn’t started making noises yet which is why we didn’t know if it was going to end up being a rooster or not, because when they’re young you can’t tell, but we don’t want it to get old enough where it starts being loud, because we live in a quiet neighborhood.

We feed completely organic crumbles, daily and fresh water. We have raised them from a day old (May 4th 2023) when we received them from a special order we made (back in March 2023)

And then there were 5! (Not including autumn and Harper inside (the ones we have definitely chose to always keep as pets)

We also may end up keeping Asher if we don’t rehomed him within the next few months (before end of summer)

Our setup for now till our new coop comes in the mail - this coop said it was big and spacious…ya know when you purchase things off of wish.com? Yeah. We feel like this is one of those situations….we were under delivered in the chicken coop department…

However, They are loving the run and this sunshine!

The chicks don’t seem to enjoy the rain but with double layers of shelter they stayed unbelievably dry the last couple of days!

The beautiful new playground at Lake Grove Park is open for the season and today's perfect weather drew lots of families out for some fun in the sun. 🛝
