The Middle Bucket

Words cannot describe the feeling of accomplishing one's goal. Since my father introduced me to the world of hiking and mountaineering at a young age, It has been a dream of ours as we've bonded through the mountains, to see in person the Himalayas and the famous Mount Everest. To be able to step one foot in front of the other and accomplish this together as he approaches age 70 in a few months, is a memory I'll cherish forever as we set foot at the base camp of Everest and evening summited Mt. Kala Patthar at about 18,375ft with the most amazing views!

There's so much to be grateful for. For my wife, for the support to leave and have this experience while she held down the fort at home and our business. To my kids, I missed dearly, to understand you need to keep climbing towards your dreams. To our friends and family for their support of encouragement and the help at home with the kids while I was gone. To my parents for opening our eyes at an early age to experience life.

On the mountain, one of our team members asked “Why we came here on this trip?” My answer had 3 parts:
1. To clear my head and refocus. The mountains are my happy place and helps me get rid of all that “fog” that gets consumed in my mind and by being in a mountain, it helps me refocus on what matters most in my life to reach our personal goals, our family goals and our business goals. It’s a mental reset!
2. I want to set an example for our kids and inspire them. I want them to be proud and excited for what they can achieve as hopefully through my actions they know they can achieve their own success of adventure
3. For my dad. To experience this with him, knowing this could be his last bigger trip, is and will provide memories for a lifetime as we know time goes quick. To have this experience with him and see his excitement brings so much joy.

In the words of Sir Edmund Hillary; “It’s not the Mountain we conquer, but ourselves!”

This Memorial Day Weekend, we want to thank all the servicemen and women that courageously gave their lives and also thank those that bravely protect us today. We honor and remember you ❤️
