Have you ever wondered why baptism is such a big deal in a Christian’s life?

Despite the misconceptions and debates that surround baptism, there’s a pretty simple reason we do it—Jesus commanded it.

Throughout the New Testament, when people hear and believe the Gospel, the very next thing they do is get baptized. Not because we need baptism to be saved, but because it’s an act of obedience, of humility, and a demonstration of one’s decision to trust in Christ. In baptism, we join with Jesus in a symbol of his death and resurrection, and are welcomed into the ever-growing family of God.

What does it look like to live out your faith beyond Sunday?

Sometimes it starts with something simple: noticing the people God has already placed around you and being willing to take the first step.
