Part 2. Partisan moves by the State Election Board? 🗳️Here is what's happening:

Election Boards are the new battleground for partisan interference in elections. The Georgia State Election Board is one of the nation’s biggest offenders, with 4 of our 5 seats being appointed by Republicans. In a board that is supposed to be nonpartisan and serve the people of Georgia, the majority of the board members pledge allegiance to Trump.

With a State Election Board made up of 80% Republicans, why would the board keep the voter data and evidence they’ve gathered hidden if it supports their claims of rampant issues with election integrity?

The goal is confusion and fear. If we fear that our elections are not secure, we are more susceptible to the top ten threats to Georgia’s free and fair elections.

Georgia Democrats, we can flip 3 seats on our State Election Board this November by flipping our State House, State Senate, and Governor to BLUE! We can restore trust and accountability to the nonpartisan board whose literal job is Georgia’s election integrity.

Life since March has been crazy busy!
We have so much more to do from now until November. Holding close the joy, meaning, laughter, lessons, & friendships that keep me going.

Part 1. When I attended the monthly Georgia State Election Board meeting with some of our Forsyth County Democrats, I was there to observe, learn, and ensure the Board knew we were paying attention. Democrats traveled from all over Georgia to make our collective presence known.

I was really hoping this proposed rule change would not come to pass, but here we are.

Hand-marked ballots in 2026 are utter bananas! Let’s see the objective evidence of how they support election integrity in Georgia. I’ll wait.

First Georgia State Election Board Monthly Meeting!

State House & State Senate have a huge responsibility in protecting the voting rights of each state. In order to help protect the rights of Georgia voters, we first have to understand how our Georgia State Election Board operates. They are responsible for election integrity & voter protections.

It’s not glamorous, but it is extremely important. Let’s learn more about it together. Dems show up! 💙

I did the thing they told me to do.
I carried the high-risk pregnancy to term.
I transformed my life so that I could be a mom.
I fought for him to live.

When he was born, he was the brightest
Most beautiful being I'd ever seen.
As time passed, the uncertainty grew.
He couldn't see, he couldn't sit, he couldn't walk.
So I kept fighting.
We kept fighting.

We built a world--one moment at a time
Where he learned to sit, where he took first steps
Where he defied the odds
His brightness filled rooms
Space to see and be seen
To love and be loved as we are

I did the thing they told me to do.

I sacrificed myself.

And now they are stripping apart
The supports we rely on to keep fighting.
The world we built is the world they're destroying
As they gut the programs--one piece at a time.

No more food subsidy.
The billionaires must dance and gorge.
The grocery money has been reallocated to wars.
Let them eat cake.

No more healthcare subsidy.
The aging politicians tell us healthcare is a privilege.
The costs aren't their problem
Even when the cost is the roof over our heads.

No more childcare subsidy.
The government decrees a mother must stay home.
Even if that mother pays the bills
Kisses the scraped knees
And juggles the 20 specialists.
She must stay encumbered
Until the weight of the ways of the world
Breaks her.

I did the thing they told me to do.
I birthed the baby that they screamed mattered.
They stole our stories--one talking point at a time.
Now they bankrupt the supports we need to survive.
My baby and me. As they turn their backs
As if to say babies only matter before they're born.

We did the thing they told us to do.
We've broken and built and broken and built
As we fight for our children to live.
The strongest army is an army of love.

They strip our supports, so we support each other.
They break us down. We lift each other up.
Watch as we transform--one mother at a time.
The world we built is a world worth saving.
So I keep fighting.
We keep fighting.
