Georgia Tech has some alumni on the roster for the 2026 FIFA World Cup! Usayd Casewit, MS PP 17, is the Venue Workforce Manager for FIFA’s official hospitality provider, On Location, and is based in Kansas City. Akshay Easwaran, CS 19, is a senior data engineer on the U.S. Soccer Federation’s Data Analytics team. Keisha Bradley, CE 06, serves as a product manager for U.S. Soccer’s core web and mobile platforms. Jathan Caldwell, IE 22, is also at the U.S. Soccer Federation, as a strategy manager. Zunirah Jamal, CS 27, is a product design intern for U.S. Soccer's digital platforms. Jillian Augello, BA 28, is interning for U.S. Soccer as a strategy analyst for the Corporate Affairs team. AC Davis, BA 28, is working in operations strategy as an intern for the Coaching Education team. Akhil Kumar, BME 13, is a senior manager of Coaching Technology at the U.S. Soccer Federation, focusing on the federation's coaching education digital strategy and programming.

Erin (Piacitelli) Morell, ME 22, and Andrew Morell, AE 22, were married on January 3, 2025. The couple met at Tech and now live in Colorado with their dog, Lula, named in honor of their first date hiking around Lula Lake, Georgia.

Alumnus Jose Alvarado, LMC 21, wins the NBA Championship with the New York Knicks! As a former point guard, Alvarado led the Yellow Jackets to their first ACC championship in 28 years and was named the ACC Defensive Player of the Year. After joining the Knicks in February, he’s kept the momentum going by helping the Knicks become NBA champions for the first time since 1973.

They met at North Avenue Student Housing when Maya Davis, BME 23, needed help lofting her bed and her roommate called a friend who brought her future husband, Ripken Walker, MT 23, MS MT 24. Ripken dedicated an EcoCommons bench to Maya and surprised her with the bench and friends as part of the proposal.

Ken Parker, Mgt 72, remembers the Yellow Jacket restaurant’s breakfast specials. The classic plate—ham or bacon served with toast, jelly, and coffee—was just 15 cents back in 1939. Grilled pound cake and hot dogs on toasted buns were also favorites.
