WSB's Karyn Greer and CBS Atlanta's T.J. Anthony are local news rivals who live in the same home. Greer is Anthony's mom, and she inspired him to follow in her footsteps.

A family first for Atlanta news. For the first time, a parent and child are working at rival Atlanta news stations at the same time. Karyn Greer is a key afternoon anchor at WSB-TV, while her son, T.J. Anthony, joined CBS Atlanta in March and recently began anchoring its noon newscast. Anthony grew up visiting Greer’s newsroom and joining her on interviews during days off from school. After starting his career in Macon and later working in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, he returned to his hometown to join CBS Atlanta. Greer has worked in Atlanta television since 1989 and is the longest-running Atlanta news anchor currently on air. She says working at a different station allows Anthony to be his own person and create his own legacy.
