Somewhat Fishy

Next on the trip down art memory lane all the way to the present: abstract fiber art. These pieces were sewn fabric which I attached to a foam core board and then drew on to make them appear three-dimensional. (Most of them have been sold.)

Since I’m hearing grinding noises coming from our basement, and I know he’s doing some inlay work with semi-precious stone and rose wood, I’m sharing a look back at some of Stephen’s sculpture work in Pacific Beach where he was working with diverse materials such as metal and stone in combination with the driftwood.

Since I’ve been showing you a lot of my scarves for the upcoming markets, I thought I’d throw in some random animal/pet portraits for variety. Hope you enjoy seeing them again. 🙂

Getting close to the fall/winter markets. In just over two weeks, October 4th and again on October 11th, I’ll be at Smyrna Handmade Sunday Market with scarves, earrings/pendants, fabric baskets and prints of my artwork.

Aaaand another one is growing on the needles. Two colors are (almost) always better than one, as are two different textures (front and back) in one scarf.
(Malabrigo merino wool yarn, colors piedras and fresco y seco, in linen stitch)

The fall/winter production is in high gear since I spotted the first yellow leaves in the neighborhood. 🍁

Lots and lots of scritches later, refining, darkening, fiddling with the infinitesimal details:
Jack is very, very handsome.

Still not done (obviously), but getting there.

New cat portrait for a client in Germany is slowly emerging. Still pretty rough, but the eyes are near completion.
