Burkina Faso has reportedly generated more than $18 billion from gold mining since Captain Ibrahim Traoré Took leadership in 2022.

They were previously paid $1 billion per year under foreign-controlled operations. Through nationalizing key mines, strengthening state authority, and limiting external dominance, Traoré’s administration has redirected a much larger share of gold profits back into the hands of the Burkinabé population.

Traore's government is using gold profits to invest in infrastructure, education, and security putting Burkinabé people first and promoting African resource ownership.

Before Olusegun Obasanjo became Nigeria’s civilian president, he served in the military and became head of state from 1976 to 1979 after the assassination of Murtala Mohammed, stabilizing the nation and preparing it for civilian rule.

He took over from General Abdulsalami Abubakar in 1999 and went on to serve two terms of four years each as civilian president. Though he could have run again, he stepped aside to let others lead.

Today, he’s a thriving businessman, loved and respected by many, with no enemies.
