Today in Alpharetta, Georgia, I had one of those full-circle moments I’ll never forget.
At the beginning of a workshop I was leading, I played a six-minute clip from Les Brown.
Why?
Because before the strategy, the systems, and the execution…
You have to believe in yourself.
As the video was playing, someone walked into the room. A few moments later, I noticed a phone being held up.
They turned it around… when a captive said I want that video…
And there was Les Brown, watching me.
I didn’t realize until afterward that the person in the room was one of the leaders on Les Brown’s team.
I first started watching Les back in 1994 through The People’s Network, and for over 30 years, he has been one of my greatest sources of inspiration.
Today was more than a surprise.
It was a reminder that the voices that shaped us often become part of the voice we use to serve others.
Thank you, Les, for being such a powerful inspiration.

Spent 2 hours in an Uber going 12 miles to the Rio airport…
And yes, the driver had to stop for gas because he was running on empty.
Bad ride?
Maybe.
But I saw it differently.
I got to catch up with Marley, hear what she and Steve are launching, and share what we’re building with BusinessNitrogen.ai.
We talked about hustle. Uncertainty. Momentum. And what it really takes to keep going when you’re running on fumes… literally and in business.
And here’s the truth:
A lot of entrepreneurs aren’t failing because they don’t have strategy.
They’re failing because they’re exhausted.
They’re out of energy.
Out of clarity.
Out of action.
And they keep pretending they can make it to the destination without stopping to refuel.
Sound familiar?
Don’t wait until you’re almost out of gas to make a shift.
Energy, clarity, and action aren’t luxuries.
They’re your edge.
Great catching up, Marley.
Great conversations > perfect conditions.

I had the honor of speaking twice at Embark Rio over the past couple of days, and today I somehow carved out one free morning.
So when you’re in Rio, what do you do?
You hike. :)
I took on Pedra da Gávea, one of Rio’s most iconic climbs at nearly 3,000 feet and about 6 hours. It’s known for some of the best views in the city.
The forecast said the clouds would clear by 9 a.m.
They didn’t.
Instead, I got constant rain, cloud views, homemade hiking poles, slippery rocks, mud, and a pretty clear reminder:
The adventure is still worth it, even when the weather refuses to cooperate.
Would I have loved the postcard view?
Of course.
But honestly, pushing through the rain and mud made it unforgettable.
I made it back just in time for the Embark dinner beach party.
Not a bad day in Rio.
Most deals don’t stall because of price. They stall because of the words you’re using without realizing it.
You can copy and paste your sales scripts into this brand new system I created and it flags the exact phrases that create hesitation, slow momentum, or quietly kill urgency. Then it shows you what to say instead so deals keep moving forward.
This is the first time I’m releasing my own sales program, and I’m SO excited about it. Objection-Proof Sales is live for $27.
Comment WIN and I’ll send you the link.
Most people never see the real power of AI because they hand it tasks instead of thinking with it. They ask once, take the first answer, and hope for a breakthrough. Leadership doesn’t work like that. Leadership challenges. Leadership iterates. Leadership demands clarity.
AI mirrors the quality of your thinking. Vague questions create vague results. But when you push it, when you ask deeper questions, when you challenge its assumptions, something shifts. Not in the tool, in you. Curiosity builds leverage. Safety destroys it.
If you want your team thinking at a higher level with AI, send me a message. I’ll show you how to use AI as a partner in thinking, not a shortcut.
Gratitude isn’t always big moments. It’s the small ones you almost overlook. The cold air. The stillness. The laughter halfway up the mountain.
This trek reminded me how full life feels when you stop trying to fill it. 🙏🏼

What a wonderful weekend in New York City celebrating Tara and Austin. Such a beautiful ceremony and wedding.
We explored all over the city eating our way through (as usual). Great to spend family and friend time! ❤️
I’ve always said I have a fear of heights.
And yet… in Nepal I walked across suspension bridges hundreds of feet above the ground.
I’ve gone skydiving (twice). And after our 14-day Manaslu Circuit trek, my son decided to sign us up for paragliding in Nepal, because apparently, I needed one more test.
Somewhere between the takeoff and the moment we caught the wind, I realized something… Maybe it’s not heights I’ve been afraid of.
Maybe it’s the idea of letting go, the part of me that still believed the story that “I’m afraid.”
Sometimes the limits we think we have are just familiar lies we’ve told ourselves to feel safe.
When you stop repeating them, you finally give yourself permission to fly (literally in my case). 🪂
Soaring Beyond the Summit: Finding Peace in Letting Go
After the trek, Josh and I arrived in Pokhara, ready for a little rest and one last adventure. We spent the day exploring the city and shared a final lunch with our guide and Sherpa, Keke. Over lunch, Josh mentioned paragliding, and smiled and said, “I know just the place.”
It all sounded simple enough until the next morning.
When we reached the launch site and I saw people literally running off the side of a mountain, I felt knots in my stomach. My first thought was, “What did I just agree to?”
But then I caught myself. I have learned that fear is often an invitation to grow. So I decided I was not going to back away. I was going to trust the process and enjoy the experience.
Moments later, we were in the air.
There was no control. The pilot guided everything. And somehow, that was exactly what I needed. In my business life, when stress rises, my instinct is to try to control everything.
For the next forty-five minutes, I was not climbing or descending. I was floating, letting go, trusting, and taking in the beauty of Nepal with the Himalayas in the distance.
Watching Josh spiral and soar with his pilot, I saw something simple but powerful illustrated perfectly. When you stop trying to control everything, you create space for life to lift you higher.
This entire journey has been about stretching my comfort zone, saying yes to the unknown, stepping away from the business for three weeks, learning to release what I cannot control, and trusting the next step, or in this case, the next gust of wind.
Growth does not end at the summit. Sometimes, it begins the moment you let go and soar.
What are you ready to let go of?
By the way, the final video is Josh spinning freely in the sky, the perfect picture of trust and freedom.
