Mane by Melody Lynch took me through it. Whew, chile! I was ready to shadowbox everybody on Mane's behalf.

While this is a work of fiction, it hits close to home because far too many of our young Black men end up caught in the system for similar reasons. Mane, a lion shifter, couldn't catch a break. After serving his time, he returned home to the Jungle only to find himself facing the same nonsense. Instead of letting it consume him, he tried to move forward and build a better life with his found family.

Reign, his best friend, had been through her own struggles. Both outsiders in their own way, they had to navigate fear, learn to trust, and figure out what it meant to love one another and build a family.

The question is: can Mane truly leave the pain and betrayal of the Jungle in his rearview mirror, or will the need for revenge pull him back in?

You'll have to read and find out.

Elle Madearis did her big one with Regal! 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾

Regal has spent her entire life protecting herself and her sisters. Raised by a hateful mother they call "the womb," she learned early on not to trust anyone. So when Dominant decides she is exactly who he wants for a wife, baybee...Regal is NOT interested. 😂 This man was literally willing to burn for her. LOL.

What follows is a beautiful story about trust, healing, strength, and learning to let someone love you when you've spent your whole life believing you're better off alone.

The world-building in Zandis Pointe was chef's kiss. I felt like I was right there with the characters watching Regal and Dominant's story unfold. The chemistry, the family dynamics, and the emotional growth kept me turning pages.

And can we talk about the Nichols sisters? Because I already need more stories from this family! 👀

In book two of the Eris Joyner series, Cursed by Blood picks up right where Bound by Light left off. Ace baybee is still Ace-ing, and let me tell you… the slow burn is CRISPY at this point. Lucas and Dracula are still along for the ride too.

And baybee, the twists and turns when Eris finds out who and what she really is? Whew. I am not spoiling a thing. Oh, and let’s not forget Ace having amnesia. Yeah… THAT part.

This book gave me all the feels.

 Shi’Zad is one of those characters that really shifts your perspective. At first, you might focus on the surface, but the deeper you go, the more you realize it never mattered. His spirit, his heart, his faith—that’s what makes him beautiful.

 And what stood out most to me is that he knows who he is. He’s not the “typical” leading man, but his confidence comes from within and from God, and that made his character even more powerful.

 I love love love this story.
