Multiple news outlets are reporting our drought progression, which is a great thing! Downside is we are not out of it yet. Trees are still stressed and as the summer heat climbs will be more prone to insects and disease.

We are seeing more and more slime flux on pine trees this year! This a bacterial infection with a horrible smell. We can treat it before it gets so bad and you lose the tree. 👷🏼‍♂️🌳⛑️

We love social media shout outs! It’s the best thanks we can get for a job well done and it’s how we’ve built our business! Retention pond work isn’t glamorous but needs to be done.

Most plants we use and buy are genetic cultivars of original species that had a genetic mutation. Sometimes the plants try to revert to their original form. Here is a dwarf Alberta spruce reverting back to a full size Alberta spruce.

Quick reminder: if you come across Crapemyrtle Bark Scale, please report it to EDDMapS at eddmaps.org or through the app.

Keep an eye out for white or gray felt-like patches along bark and branches, small pink to gray crawler stage insects, and black sooty mold that can make trunks look dark and dirty. You may also notice reduced flowering or a general decline in tree health during heavier infestations.

Early reports help track the spread and protect crapemyrtles and American beautyberry before infestations get worse.
